Umrah is a sacred religious duty that is fulfilled by Muslims around the world. And during the month of Ramadan, there is a major increase in the number of pilgrims who travel to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform this religious duty. If you ask someone who is planning to visit the kingdom from the UAE, there are certain essential things that you must keep in mind to ensure your pilgrimage is without any complications.
You Must Be Vaccinated Against Influenza
Before you embark on a religious journey of performing Umrah, you must ensure that your influenza vaccine is up-to-date. Yes, you need to take the flu vaccine because the UAE Ministry of Health & Prevention has now made it mandatory for all Umrah pilgrims to be vaccinated. And, in a report by the Gulf News, it was mentioned that this is also applicable to pilgrims. So, you might want to hurry up and take your vaccine as this should be done at least 10 days before departure, to guarantee efficacy and immunity. However, if you’ve already received a vaccine for influenza in the past year, you do not require a new dose.
Your Visa Must Be Valid
While the Saudi visa, which is available for the residence of UAE is a multiple entry visa, it is valid for one year. And when applying for the visa, you must also ensure that your UAE residence visa is valid for at least three months. Not to mention, your passport should also be valid for at least six months.

Prior Permission From Nusuk App Is Mandatory
Before you decide to arrive at the Grand Mosque in Mecca, you must have a prior permit that can be taken from the Nusuk mobile application. Multiple Umrah permits won’t be issued for Ramadan, since there are lots of people who wish to undertake this religious pilgrimage during the month of Ramadan. So, Muslims from abroad must therefore obtain a permit in advance from the app. The Nusuk app is available on both Apple and Android devices.
So, if you are also planning to take on Umrah from the UAE, make sure to follow these rules to ensure a smooth journey.
