President Droupadi Murmu took a ride in the Delhi Metro on February 7. Guarded by security personnel and bodyguards, videos of her ride in the metro are making rounds on different social media platforms. On Wednesday, she travelled on the Violet Line of the Delhi metro. Let’s take a look at the President’s metro journey and how she interacted with some co-passengers as well.
President Droupadi Murmu Took A Metro Ride In Delhi
Taking to the X (formerly Twitter) platform, the President of India (@rashtrapatibhvn) shared some pictures of Droupadi Murmu travelling in the Delhi metro.

It was the first time when she travelled in a metro after taking charge and becoming the president, according to a report by NDTV. In the viral videos circulating on social media platforms, she can be seen in a yellow saree and sitting on a metro seat during her journey. During this journey, President Droupadi Murmu also interacted and had some conversations with some young school students as well.

She took the Delhi metro ride on the Violet Line, as shared by some officials. This line of the Delhi metro provides services between Kashmere Gate and Ballabhgarh’s Raja Nahar Singh.
President Flagged Off Shuttle Bus Service
Apart from taking a ride on the Delhi metro, Droupadi Murmu flagged off a shuttle bus service between Central Secretariat Metro Station and Amrit Udyan on Wednesday as well. The all-new bus service running between Gate 4 of the Central Secretariat Metro Station and Gate 25 of Amrit Udyan is ready to take passengers to their destination. The bus taking visitors to the Amrit Udyan runs at an interval of half an hour. Starting from 9:30 AM, the bus operates till 5 PM.
Opened for the public on February 2, 2024, the gates of Amrit Udyan will be open for visitors till March 31, 2024. Except Mondays, the garden is open 6 days a week.
