Are you planning to marry the love of your life in Goa? If a picturesque beach wedding in Goa is on your mind, get ready to splurge. The Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) announced a rise in daily fees. Not only marriage ceremonies but the recently announced hike in fees is implemented for different private events on the beautiful beaches.
Beach Weddings In Goa Are Getting Costlier
According to the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority’s latest decision, people must pay a fee of ₹1 lakh per day to organise weddings or any private events on scenic beaches. The revised fee marked a significant rise compared to the previous fee structure. Previously, GCZMA hiked the fees for beach weddings in Goa in May 2023. Back then, the cost was ₹1 lakh to celebrate events for 5 days. The surprising jump in fees is likely to affect the beach wedding sector in this coastal state.
According to a report by The Times of India, government bodies, autonomous bodies, charitable trusts, schools, and sports event organisers will get a 75 per cent concession. Submission of applications to host beach weddings in Goa is on the rise. The overall application numbers for different events were more than the cases regarding the coastal regulation zone violations. The numbers exceeded in December and January.
The department hiked fees for several other categories as well. From installing temporary hoardings to working on construction, new fees have been announced in addition to hosting private events and beach weddings in Goa.
More About Additional Fees
The GCZMA decided on a fee for temporary hoardings. To install illuminated hoardings, the charge is ₹700 per sq m. And the charge is ₹400 per sq m for non-illuminated hoardings. According to a report by The Navhind Times, a scrutiny fee for revisions of plans is implemented. It costs 10 per cent of the primary scrutiny fee. This fee is essentially targeted to swimming pools, sheds, hoardings, similar temporary structures, and different categories.
