For one Tere Gully Mein episode, the stunning actor Priya Mani joined our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, in the bustling lanes of Matunga. From Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi, and Kannada films, she finally worked in Shah Rukh Khan’s 2023 film, ‘Jawan’. We caught up with her while gorging on authentic South Indian food; check it out.
At Udipi Shri Krishna Boarding With Priya Mani And Kamiya Jani
After indulging in delicious dosa, puri and filter coffee at the famous Ram Ashraya, it was time to head to our second spot. It was undoubtedly another iconic South Indian restaurant, Udipi Shri Krishna Boarding. This hole-in-the-wall spot is always crowded and it is quite a task to get a table here, even with a celebrity status! This time we wanted to try our luck with the ‘Jawan’ actor.
Luckily, Kamiya and Priya didn’t have to wait long before they were assigned a table. In true South Indian style, two fresh banana leaves were set on the table before them for a traditional South Indian thali. And as a Bangalorean, Priya washed her banana leaf, again. This small gesture reminded her of a South Indian wedding feast!
Folks at Udipi Shri Krishna Boarding swiftly served them diverse dishes. The aroma made them salivate and they dug in as soon as the plate was filled. The food here left our guest speechless as she appreciated its authenticity.
True fans of Udipi Shri Krishna Boarding know what the hype is all about and now, even actor Priya Mani isn’t oblivious to it! The rest of you, what are you waiting for, head over to this eatery in Matunga.

While relishing this scrumptious meal, we couldn’t help but ask the actor about the King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan. As a crazy bunch of SRKians, we asked her whether she relished a South Indian meal with the Badshah. With a mouthful of food, Priya shook her head.
She elaborated that SRK followed an extremely strict diet, just like everyone else on the set. She also informed us that her ‘Jawan’ director, Atlee Kumar, a south Indian, might have provided SRK with some South Indian meals during filming.
