‘The Family Man’ actor Priya Mani met our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, for an amazing food trail in the mini-South India of Mumbai, Matunga. We were on the hunt to relish some authentic South Indian cuisine with the true Bangalorean on this Tere Gully Mein episode. While gorging on delectable food, we talked about Priya Mani’s acting journey in films and touched upon her experience in Shah Rukh Khan’s 2023 film, ‘Jawan’.
Priya Mani On Shah Rukh Khan’s Strict Diet Plan
Priya played the role of Lakshmi in the film, ‘Jawan’ alongside King Khan. This isn’t the first time they have crossed paths on the sets of a film. A decade ago, in 2013, she danced beside Shah Rukh Khan on the blockbuster song ‘One Two Three Four (Get On The Dance Floor)’ from the film, ‘Chennai Express’. And this time, she was an essential part of Khan’s girl gang in ‘Jawan.’
We were curious whether, as a true South Indian, she had the chance to enjoy an elaborate South Indian meal with her co-star. She enlightened us that Shah Rukh Khan followed a strict diet plan and so did every one of the sets, so it was impossible to indulge in anything outside of the diet plans.
With those epic action scenes and catchy dance moves, everyone had to be in shape. We understand the commitment to work!

She Revealed About Atlee Kumar’s Birthday Bash

Priya recalled that the cast and crew of ‘Jawan’ had a blast at their director Atlee Kumar’s birthday. She calls this party one of the most memorable events. It was a great get-together with everyone, from the set boys to assistant directors, and co-stars to technicians; it was a gala time.
It felt like a family gathering to celebrate a phenomenal milestone with good music, food and unforgettable memories. This is when she mentioned that maybe Atlee fed some good South Indian food to Badshah of Bollywood during some elaborate lunch sessions.
