The Dubai Green Spine project aims to create a ’20-minute city,’ an urban planning concept where most daily needs and services are accessible within 20 minutes by foot, bike, or public transport. This approach minimises long commutes, enhancing convenience and reducing traffic congestion.

A standout feature of the project is the introduction of 100% solar-powered trams, supported by a 300-megawatt solar energy system. These eco-friendly trams will significantly cut down on carbon emissions, making the transportation system sustainable and energy-efficient.

URB estimates that the Dubai Green Spine will reduce CO2 emissions by 1 million tons annually.
