Public schools in the UAE will enjoy shorter working hours, thanks to the harsh summer. The Ministry of Education revealed new school timings for primary and secondary kids.

What’s It?

Public schools in the UAE will have reduced working hours to beat the summer heat. Class timings have been reduced to 40 minutes from the regular 45 minutes and morning assemblies have also been waived off.

The above changes will lead to the school timings being reduced by one hour. The Ministry of Education announced that all public schools will function as per the new timings until end of July.

Here are the altered timings: 

  • Kindergarten children will start school at 8 am and finish at 11:45, while teachers will stay back until 1:00 pm
  • Primary school boys will start school at 7.15am and finish at 12:37 pm, while secondary boys will finish at 1:20pm
  • The timings for primary school girls will be from 8:00 am to 1:22 pm, while secondary girls will finish at 2:05 pm

As for the weather, hotter days are in store for residents.
