This story of an optimistic and resilient Zomato delivery man is winning the hearts of netizens. From a high-paying ₹1.25 lakh paying job to simply being a delivery agent for Zomato, this story is one of strength, resilience and optimism.
The Touching Tale Of A Supervisor-Turned Zomato Delivery Man
According to a LinkedIn post by Pune resident Shripal Gandhi, he had ordered a meal of sandwiches, chips and cookies from Subway. But as fate would have it, the restaurant failed to add his cookies and chips to the order. This resulted in a conversation with the delivery man, who requested that he call the restaurant and confirm.
Once confirmed, Shripal insisted that the Zomato delivery agent fetch the missing food items in exchange for extra ₹20. But here is the twist, the delivery agent not only agreed to go back and bring the chips and cookies, but also refused the extra payment. He said that he took pride in his job and wanted nothing else other than the customer being happy. This story won the hearts of users who commented on the post, with comments like, “Inspiring”, “really a good personality”, and more. This story was also reposted on X (formerly Twitter) by X user, Mr IG (Isvaguru).
This was not only a surprise to Shripal but also a little bit shocking, as who would refuse extra payment in this money-minded world? This made him have a deep conversation with the Zomato delivery man, who then explained his life situation. This delivery agent was once a construction supervisor earning ₹1.25 lakhs/ per month at Shapoorji Pallonji. But a car accident left him half-paralysed, which not only cost him the job but also his will to live.
Zomato Acted As His Saviour
After this life-altering experience, the man got a new job at Zomato as a delivery agent, which not only returned his will to live but also allowed him the financial support for his family. As a result of this, his daughter is now studying dentistry. Explaining this, the Pune man also quoted the man as saying, “God has given me so much. Why should I take this money for a mistake someone else made?” Adding to this, he also said, “Sir, Zomato kept my family alive. I may be handicapped, but I’ve been given an opportunity. I will never let Zomato’s name be affected.”
Shripal Gandhi ended his LinkedIn post by saying that he not only got his sandwiches, cookies and chips but also a major life lesson. This delivery man did not blame life, his luck or have any excuses. He was just living a happy life despite being handicapped and losing a high-paying job.

In his post, he thanked not only Deepinder Goyal, the co-founder and CEO of Zomato, but also the entire Zomato team. He applauded them for hiring people with disabilities and giving back the will to live, especially to this man.
This story isn’t just about gratitude but is also a reminder to face life’s unexpected challenges with strength and courage.
