Qatar Airways Doha-Dublin Flight Experienced Heavy Turbulence; 12 Injured

Safe travels! This is what everybody wishes for before boarding any flight to a destination of their choice. But sometimes flights can get a tad bit scary, especially if it experiences turbulence. Although mostly, they’re hardly anything more than little jitters, but sometimes it can be quite an ordeal, and this is what happened recently to the passengers of a Qatar Airways flight. Yes, the flight QR017 experienced major turbulence on Sunday.

Yes, recently a Qatar Airways flight, which was flying from Doha to Ireland, saw a major bout of turbulence. Carrying 12 people, the flight, after experiencing major turbulence, saw them injured. This happened on Sunday, May 26, on the flight QR017. As it happens, in this flight, a Boeing B787-9 Dreamliner was involved and it’s worth mentioning that this flight, however, landed shortly and safely before 1 PM, Dublin time.

In fact, this was also confirmed by the official Twitter account of Qatar Airways. Yes, the airline took to its official account, mentioning that a small number of passengers and crew had sustained injuries during the flight and were receiving medical attention. However, this matter is now subject to internal investigation as mentioned in the post.

It’s worth mentioning that in a news report by Al Arabia, it was revealed that the aircraft was met by emergency services as soon as it landed. This included the airport police and fire & rescue department. It was revealed by the Dublin Airport in its statement that the flight included six passengers and six crew members, who were on board and they had received some injuries due to the turbulence.

This development comes after a Singapore Airlines flight from London to Singapore experienced severe turbulence. This ended up killing a 73-year-old British man and 20 other people were left in intensive care. The flight was later forced to land in Bangkok. It’s also worth noting that turbulence-related airline accidents are some of the most common types.

So, it’s always safe to ensure that one follows all the safety protocols mentioned by the crew members and the aircraft during a flight to the design destination for utmost safety.
