Radico Khaitan Unveils Rampur Jugalbandi #5 And #6

In the rich tapestry of Indian culture, the term “Jugalbandi” signifies a mesmerising duet between two musicians, each with their own instrument, coming together in perfect harmony. This concept of intertwined excellence and balanced partnership has been brilliantly translated into the Rampur Jugalbandi series.

Jugalbandi #5 is a testament to the art of cask selection and maturation. Initially aged in American Bourbon barrels, this whisky is then transferred to Tokaji wine casks, renowned for imparting unique flavours. The climate of North India plays a crucial role in enhancing the characteristics of this single malt.

The result is a whisky that marries the fruity and floral notes from the Bourbon barrels with the creamy, honeyed essence derived from Tokaji casks. With an ABV of 55.6% and a recommended retail price of £400 for a 70-cl bottle, this expression also promises a luxurious journey for whisky enthusiasts.

In contrast, Jugalbandi #6 showcases the influence of Madeira casks. They are known for their ability to infuse whiskies with rich, fruity, and caramelised flavours. This expression is also matured in the North Indian climate, which helps in developing the distinct characteristics. With an ABV of 55.8% and a similar retail price, this whisky offers a vibrant and complex tasting experience.

Sanjeev Banga, President of International Business at Radico Khaitan, echoed the sentiment. He also talked about showcasing India’s rich heritage and exceptional craftsmanship on the global stage. Rampur Jugalbandi #5 and #6 are seen as exemplary embodiments of this vision. They also reflect the company’s commitment to excellence in the beverage alcohol space.
