Legacies are left behind by veterans for generations to follow. These legacies come with a lot of knowledge, experience, love, and life lessons. One such legendary legacy is that of the late Bollywood superstar Shri Raj Kapoor. Raj Kapoor has been an icon in the Indian film industry. To commemorate this gem of an actor, the ‘Raj Kapoor 100 Film Festival’ or ‘Raj Kapoor 100—Celebrating the Centenary of the Greatest Showman’ is commencing from December 13 to 15.
All About The ‘Raj Kapoor 100 Film Festival’
The NFDC (National Film Archive of India), RK Films, and the Film Heritage Foundation are hosting special screenings of Raj Kapoor’s classic films. Under the title “Raj Kapoor 100—Celebrating the Centenary of the Greatest Showman,” this screening has been fashioned into a festival. The screenings will take place at PVR INOX and Cinepolis in 40 Indian cities across 135 locations.
To commemorate his 100th birthday, the festival will showcase well-known films such as Barsaat, Shree 420, Awaara, Jagte Raho, Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behti Hai, Mera Naam Joker, Bobby, and Ram Teri Ganga Maili.
Furthermore, actor Ranbir Kapoor talked about Raj Kapoor’s legacy and the family’s intention to celebrate their heritage through the Raj Kapoor Film Festival at the 55th International Film Festival of India in Goa, as reported by News18. Since legends are sometimes forgotten, Kapoor also underlined the need to remember one’s ancestry during the event. He encouraged everyone to come and take part in the event.
Kapoor Family Invited By PM Modi To Delhi
The Kapoor clan was invited by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to join the celebrations in Delhi. Photos of the family members dressed in traditional attire have surfaced online.
A few hours ago, Karisma Kapoor shared photos from their meeting with PM Modi on Instagram. She thanked PM Modi for inviting the entire family and for his support in commemorating this milestone in a very heartfelt caption. She also mentioned Raj Kapoor’s artistry, vision, and contribution to Indian cinema. “His legacy inspires us and the generations to come,” wrote Karisma. From Ranbir Kapoor to Neetu Kapoor to Kareena Kapoor, the whole Kapoor clan met PM Modi.
Further, Kareena Kapoor also shared a story in which PM Modi was seen writing a letter for her kids, Jeh and Taimur. It was certainly adorable.
Raj Kapoor has demonstrated his artistic brilliance by competing internationally and winning significant accolades for his performances.
