This Sunday Brunch episode is a little different from the others. Our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, met one of Maharashtra’s beloved politicians, Raj Thackeray, who was accompanied by his son, Amit Thackeray. Kamiya visited his house in Mumbai for a delicious Maharashtrian feast that had everything from Sabudana Khichdi to Tadpe Poha. We all know how fiery and bold Raj Thackeray is, but did you know that he loves spicy food? From his favourite food to his special talents, Raj Thackeray shared a lot with us.
Raj Thackeray’s Favourite Misal Pav & Vada Pav Spots
As Kamiya indulged herself in the amazing spread of Maharashtrian food, she played a fun game called ‘This or That: Food Edition’ with the father-son duo. She asked them what they would prefer: Vada Pav or Misal Pav. This, surely, was a difficult choice, as both the dishes are gems of Maharashtra. To answer the question, Raj Thackeray clarified that it depended on the region from where one was eating these dishes. He mentioned that his favourite Misal was from Maharashtra’s Thane region, a place called Mamledar Misal. “It’s spicy, but I like that more,” said Raj Thackeray.
When asked about Vada Pav, he mentioned that there was an amazing Vada Pav place near Swami Ka Math. He also added Vada Pav near Kirti M. Doongursee College and Misal from Saraswati Restaurant in Dadar to the list. Well, Raj Thackeray is definitely a foodie and loves spicy food. Hearing about these places surely leaves us craving for Vada Pav and Misal Pav.
However, his son, Amit Thackeray, is completely opposite, as he prefers and loves sweet food over spicy.

He revealed that he experiences shaky limbs and cold sweats while speaking to the public, and this has crept into every speech he gives. He talked about his experiences and his pre-speech nervousness as well.
To other orators, his advice is that they should avoid shouting and maintain some distance from microphones.
