Rajasthan has taken a remarkable step in promoting sustainable tourism by launching India’s first luxury electric cruise on the picturesque Ana Sagar Lake in Ajmer. This initiative combines heritage exploration with eco-friendliness, making it an exciting attraction for both locals and tourists.
Rajasthan Launches India’s First Luxury Electric Cruise
The luxury e-cruise, a collaboration between JP Dadhich and Goa-based Board Craft Private Limited, promises to be a memorable experience for everyone. The vessel, measuring 22 metres, is a double-decker marvel crafted from lightweight fibre. It can comfortably accommodate up to 150 passengers, with air-conditioned and open-air decks offering stunning views of the lake.
One of the standout features of this cruise is its commitment to sustainability. The cruise operates on battery power and includes bio-toilets, which ensure that it releases no harmful pollutants into the environment. Future plans to integrate solar panels will further enhance its eco-friendliness. This innovative approach highlights Rajasthan’s dedication to responsible tourism, showing that luxury can coexist with environmental care.
Variety Of Activities
Ticket prices are affordable, making this experience accessible to a wide audience. Adults can enjoy the cruise for ₹350, while children’s tickets are priced at ₹250. This pricing strategy aims to encourage families to explore the rich heritage and natural beauty of the region without breaking the bank.
Passengers aboard the luxury e-cruise can indulge in a variety of activities. They can savour delicious cuisine, enjoy music and dance performances, and take in the breathtaking scenery surrounding Ana Sagar Lake. They designed the experience to be both relaxing and entertaining, making it a perfect outing for families, friends, or couples.
Safety is also a top priority for this cruise. It comes equipped with CCTV cameras, life jackets, and a rescue boat, ensuring that all passengers feel secure throughout their journey. This focus on safety further enhances the overall experience, allowing guests to enjoy the beauty of the lake without worry.
Ana Sagar Lake holds significant historical importance. Arnoraja built the lake between 1135 and 1150 AD, and it is named after him. He was the grandfather of the legendary Prithviraj Chauhan. Mughal Emperor Jahangir later created the beautiful Daulat Bagh garden nearby, while Shah Jahan added five pavilions, known as Baradari, enhancing the area’s charm. Today, the lake serves as a major attraction in Ajmer, drawing visitors eager to explore its rich heritage.
