Bikaner in Rajasthan became the first city in India to start a ‘door-to-door’ vaccination drive to fight the coronavirus drive. The vaccination drive aims to inoculate people above the age of 45 years. Meanwhile, people visiting Rajasthan from outside the state and who received at least the first dose of vaccine will no longer need to show a negative RT-PCR test report or undergo home or institutional quarantine. When it comes to Jammu and Kashmir, the authorities at Anantnag district have made vaccine certificate and Covid negative report mandatory for visitors entering tourist places, including the iconic Pahalgam resort. This is done to prevent a rise in Covid cases.
Bikaner Becomes India’s First City To Start Door-To-Door Covid Jabs
Rajasthan’s Bikaner is all set to be India’s first city to start a “door-to-door” Covid vaccination drive according to a Live Hindustan report on June 13. The Bikaner District Administration has already started a WhatsApp helpline number for people to register their names and addresses to get the Covid jab. According to an NDTV report, three mobile vans and two ambulances have been deployed for the same. The mobile van will arrive only after a minimum of 10 people register for the vaccines to minimise vaccine wastage. With a population of 7 lakh in the 2011 Census, around 60-65 per cent of the population in Bikaner has been vaccinated so far.
