So, when he joined our anchor, Tonakshi Kalra, for this episode of Teri Gully Mei, we knew we were in for an unpredictable journey with tons of Delhi-special food and delightful conversations. As the self-proclaimed foodies meandered through the vibrant streets of Chandni Chowk, Rajat answered Tonakshi’s fiery questions with humour and flair. Is Rajat Kapoor the ultimate actor, or a director that steals the show? Scroll down for the video and the full scoop .
Is Rajat Kapoor A Better Actor Or Director?
After a stomach-filling day at the Parawthe Wali Shop, Rajat and Tonakshi set out to explore the streets of Chandni Chowk. Tonakshi was clearly in awe of the actor’s towering height and even more so of his towering success, so she couldn’t help but ask, “According to you, are you a better actor or a better director?’’ Rajat didn’t even have to think twice before answering, “I think I am a better director, I don’t work very hard in acting, but I work very hard as a director.”
As baffling as it sounds, this successful actor claims he doesn’t really work hard at acting. Hard to believe, right? But hold your confusion because his reasoning will flip your perspective. In his words, “The process of making, editing and releasing a film is a two-year process. So, if I am spending two years of my life building something, I better be good at it!” And we couldn’t agree more!
Just like any other actor and director, a prestigious award is a form of validation and success for Rajat. But learn to take a lesson on dealing with setbacks from these actors’ sporty books! Rajat explains that though his films Ankhon Dekhi and Mithya didn’t bag a National Award, the immense love for his fans is all that ever mattered to him.
