rakhi celebration flight

Rakhi holds a special meaning for the brothers and sisters in India. To mark this beautiful occasion, IndiGo, Air India Express and AirAsia India decided to celebrate Raksha Bandhan and foster the amazing bond at 36,000 ft!

Air India Express and AirAsia India Distributed Rakhis To The Passengers

On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Air India Express and AirAsia India made a nice and meaningful gesture by handing out Rakhis to passengers on all of their flights throughout India. The specifically made Rakhis were made with a sustainable design, highlighting the airline’s unwavering commitment to fostering deep ties and delighting its customers.

Rakhi, which honours the ties of sibling love, has a special place in the hearts of Indians and members of the Indian diaspora around the world. The sophisticated mechanics of an aircraft engine serve as the creative inspiration for the made-to-order rakhis, which include a circular core pattern that resembles a propeller.

The two-toned threads on the rakhis are woven from cotton, and the dial is made of Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) wood. Additionally, this effort gave siblings the chance to fly together and celebrate the event from 36,000 feet in the air. Additionally, the airlines posted highlights from the unique Rakhi activities on their joint social media account, @airindiax.

IndiGo Cabin Crew Celebrated Raksha Bandhan

This year’s Raksha Bandhan festival was particularly special for Indigo cabin staff member Shubha since she finally got to enjoy it with her brother. The only reason this was feasible was because her brother was the flight’s captain.

Before the flight took off, Shubha gave a special announcement to the passengers, as seen in a video posted by Indigo. On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan yesterday, she stated that in a profession like theirs, it is rare that every year they get to celebrate festivals and special moments with their loved ones back home. Thus, it is crucial for them to take passengers back home so they can rejoice with their loved ones.

The attendant continued as her brother, Captain Gaurav, stood next to her. She poured her heart out and gave the reason of why it is a very special day for her and her brother, who was there to make sure they celebrated Raksha Bandhan together after many years. As passengers cheered, Shubha stated that her brother is her rock, best friend and someone she can lean on!
