Our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, a true-blue Sindhi, met her fellow Sindhi counterparts at their palatial home in Mumbai. Jackky Bhagnani and Rakul Preet Singh invited Curly Tales for a Sindhi-special Sunday Brunch, and Kamiya had to ask them about their journey from being best friends to spouses.
Rakul Preet & Jackky Bhagnani Host Curly Tales Over A Sindhi Meal
Earlier, we invited Jackky Bhagnani to our restaurant, Imlee- The Chaat Gali, to take him on a chaat-licious sojourn. We also had Rakul Preet Singh on our show many times. This time, the tables have turned as the Bollywood couple invited Kamiya Jani to their home for a homemade Sindhi meal. While talking to them, Kamiya asked the duo how long they had been acquainted.
“Almost five years,” said Jackky with a grin. While we’ve heard Rakul narrating their love story, we wanted to hear the tale from Jackky’s mouth. The doting husband revealed they first became best friends because they shared the same core values. Family, fitness, health, and giving each other space are very important to them. Jackky revealed they the duo focus on being happy by themselves without expecting the other to be the source of their happiness.

The Duo Shares Their Untold Love Story
What started as a friendship slowly evolved into a bond of close friendship where they would always look for reasons to spend time with each other. Rakul and Jackky would wait for each other to finish shooting. They hung out for five months continuously even making their gangs part of their lives. Jackky hilariously revealed how Rakul Preet thought he wasn’t straight as he wasn’t making a move on her. Jackky said he was a sanskari ladka who immensely respected the Yaariyan actress.
Jackky reasoned with himself that he wanted to be totally sure about marrying her. He didn’t want to lose Rakul Preet as a friend for a fling. The actor-producer didn’t just want to date Rakul Preet Singh; rather, he wanted to marry her. While Jackky was sure he wanted to marry her eventually, he didn’t communicate it to her. During COVID-19, the two shifted to a villa in Goa with their friends and family. After they returned, Rakul noticed Jackky was very quiet but romantic with her.
Meanwhile, De De Pyaar De actress was seeking clarity about the relationship and waiting for Jackky to confess his feelings to her. One day, he just held her hand and hilariously blurted out to her, “I’m so scared.” After that incident, the two started dating. After six months of dating, Jackky Bhagnani approached her parents to ask for their daughter’s hand in marriage. The actor-producer hilariously revealed that for men, actions speak louder than words since they can’t express their feelings easily.
