Ram Lalla-Sculptor Arun Yogiraj Braved An Eye Injury & Spent Sleepless Nights To Sculpt Perfect Idol

With the grand pran prathishta ceremony for Ayodhya’s Ram Temple just around the corner, several states like Madhya Pradesh, Chhatisgarh, Goa, Haryana and of course, Uttar Pradesh have already declared public holidays on January 22. The work that has gone beyond building the temple and sculpting the idols has not gone unnoticed. Mysuru-based sculptor, Arun Yogiraj responsible for expertly chiselling the  “Ram Lalla” idol braved an eye injury and even spent many a sleepless night to ensure the perfect idol would be placed in the shrine.

Despite Undergoing Eye Surgery, Arun Yogiraj Worked Hard To Perfect Ram Lalla Idol

In a report by The Print, Arun Yogiraj’s family, sheds light on the painstaking nights he spent in sculpting the perfect idol for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. His wife, Vijetha shared that she was extremely happy with his achievement. Furthermore, she also revealed how Arun Yogiraj braved an eye injury while chiselling the idol. When Arun Yogiraj was tasked with sculpting the Ram Lalla idol, he found out that the ideal stone for the idol was available near Mysuru.

So, when he visited the site for the stone it turned out to be very hard. It was so hard that a pointed flake pricked his eye. And the Mysuru-based sculptor had to undergo an eye operation to remove the piece. The immense pain from the eye injury and the subsequent operation didn’t deter the sculptor from his work. Braving the pain, he continued working on the idol. At the end, his hard work, dedication and his work impressed everyone. His family are basking in joy that they were assigned to carry out this virtuous job.
