Ramadan 2022: Best Ways To Hydrate Yourself While Fasting

Ramadan 2022

The holy month of Ramadan is about to begin on April 2nd, and millions of people around the world are preparing for the month of fasting. From iftar preps to Eid preps, everything is on in full swing. And while we are super excited for the holy month to begin, it’s the UAE heat that we are worried about the most. Hence, staying hydrated is a must even while fasting so that we don’t fall sick because of the heat and dehydration. Wondering how that’s possible? Well, here’s how you can stay hydrated.

Tips To Stay Hydrated In Ramadan 2022

1. Consume a Lot Of Fluids

Before starting the fast, i.e, at Sehri time, ensure that you consume a good amount of fluids. And even after breaking the fast, start your meals with fluids. Be it- juices, water, or rose-sharbat, have more of it. You must not consume more cold drinks since the sugar content dehydrates your system. And while you intake liquids, remember not to drink too much water in one go since your body might not be able to take it all, and you might puke the water. So take sips at infrequent intervals.

2. Consume Food With High Water Content

At Sehri time, instead of having oily things and dishes high in sugar content, have food with high water content like watermelon, cucumber, apples, celery, etc.- they will keep you stay hydrated while you fast. Avoid consuming too much caffeine, as these will make you use the toilet often and cause dehydration.

3. Exercise At Home

The holy month of Ramadan begins on April 2nd, and April is also the month when the summers start. Hence, to ensure that you don’t lose much water in the form of sweat, don’t exercise outdoors. You sweat more and lose extra fluids through faster breathing outdoors- hence it’s better to opt for lighter exercises indoors.

4. Have Enough Water

Your total water intake every day should be at least 2.5-3 Litres, so ensure that you sip on the water before and after the fast. It helps maintain fluid levels, keeps mood swings in place, and keeps your energy levels high.
