Yes, a woman visiting a restaurant in the emirate was in for a rude surprise when she saw a cockroach floating in her soup.
Ras Al Khaimah Restaurant Fined AED100000
A restaurant in Ras Al Khaimah has been fined AED100,000 for violating food and safety regulations. The main defenders Including the owner and the employee were charged with fines of AED100000 and AED5000, respectively. This was done for distributing food items that were harmful to health and spoiled seafood soup. Yes, the complaint was lodged after the restaurant served seafood soup to a woman that contained a cockroach floating in it!

The Customer Saw A Cockroach In Her Food
In fact, the restaurant was also accused of misleading the customers by serving food unfit for consumption as revealed by the Gulf News. Talking about the incident, this complaint came to light when a woman visited the restaurant with her husband. There she ordered seafood soup, and when it was served, she noticed a cockroach in it! After this, she promptly recorded a 12-second video showing the insect and reported the same to the municipality and the police. Soon, strict action was taken against the restaurant for serving unhygienic and unfit food for consumption.
So, it is quite important that you are alert even at the restaurants that you visit. Not to mention, authorities have urged people to inform them if they find anything suspicious at a restaurant so that they can thoroughly check and inspect whether these restaurants are following all the protocols necessary for maintaining a proper hygienic standard.
