Well, that is true because the Royal Commission for Riyadh City has announced eight projects that aim to improve traffic in the city. Take a look.
Projects For Improving Traffic In Riyadh
With the aim of improving traffic in Riyadh, the Royal Commission for Riyadh City will soon start implementing the second group of the Riyadh Ring Roads and Main Axes Development Program. This program features eight new projects that are valued at SAR8 million. It was launched by Crown Prince Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the RCRC.

What Are These 8 Projects?
So if you’re also curious about these eight projects, they are as follows
- Prince Turki bin Abdulaziz Al-Awwal Road Development Project, the northern part of this road, which has a length of 6 km will be developed. For this purpose, two main intersections, three bridges, and a tunnel will be built. This will raise the road capacity to 200,000 vehicles every day.
- Al-Thumama Road Axis Development Project of the road, with 10 km of length will be developed. This will have five intersections. For this purpose, 11 bridges and five tunnels will also be built. This will also increase the capacity of the route to 200,000 vehicles per day.
- For the Imam Abdullah bin Saud Road Development Project with a length of 9 km, four main subsections, three bridges, and two tunnels will be constructed. This will raise the road’s capacity to 200,000 vehicles per day
- Dirab Road Development Project with a length of 9 km, will see the construction of two main intersections and nine bridges. This will raise the capacity to 3,40,000 vehicles per day.
- Imam Muslim Road Development Project with a length of 12 km, will see the construction of four main intersections and four bridges. It will raise the road’s capacity to 200,000 vehicles per day. In fact, this will also represent the future extension of Prince Turki bin Abdulaziz Al-Awwal Road Axis to the south
- There will be road development projects surrounding the King Abdullah Financial Centre. With a length of 20 km, this will include the development of three main intersections and 19 bridges.
- A project implementing a bridge at the intersection of King of Salman Road with Abu Bakr Al Siddiq Road. This includes the implementation of the bridge between the two roads, aiming to enhance the flow of traffic and raise its efficiency.
- Engineering modifications will be made for crowded sites. The ‘first package,’ includes improving a group of spots where traffic congestion happens during peak hours.
