A new week begins with new social media posts of passengers complaining about airlines and their poor services. If you open any social media platform, your feed gets bombarded with people ranting about their air travel experiences. Unfortunately, this has become a regular experience over the past few months. A Redditor slammed IndiGo for not providing necessities to travellers on an international IndiGo flight to Mumbai. Here’s what happened en route.
Redditor Ranted About IndiGo For Poor Experiences On An International Flight To Mumbai
Taking to Reddit, u/HaoBePakaMat posted about the recent flight experience.
Indigo’s International Flights are an Embarrassment

As shared on this Reddit post, the Redditor boarded an international IndiGo flight bound for Mumbai. The journey from an overseas city to the City of Dreams took around seven hours. Even a two-hour domestic flight makes us feel tired while sitting in cramped flight spaces and we can only imagine how the seven-hour-long flight journey felt like.
The passenger previously travelled to different cities with other airlines such as Etihad, Qatar, and Saudia. Comparing these past experiences to the recent one with IndiGo, the Redditor pointed out that “the service levels are chalk and cheese.” Though IndiGo is known for being a cost-saving airline, ticket prices have jumped much higher than before presently. The passenger further added that the airline’s services need to improve too now.
Calling this journey to Mumbai “the most uncomfortable seven hours spent travelling”, the flyer stated that IndiGo really needs to stop hiding behind the veil of a cheap airline and start providing basic necessities to customers.

These Were Major Problems
The first issue that the Redditor indicated was in-flight entertainment. On this international flight to Mumbai, IndiGo did not provide an entertainment system. Seeing such facilities, the passenger asked, “How is one supposed to spend time for 7 hours?” Also, there was no pillow, blanket, or pair of earphones. The plane only had white screens.
The next problem was regarding seats. There was barely any cushion, legroom, or horizontal space. Also, there is no way to get proper seats without paying an additional charge for desired positions. “Isn’t this basic decency that you let people choose some free seats while web checking in?”, asked the Redditor.
Criticising food quality, the passenger also added that IndiGo served a small rice portion with sabzi, bread, and butter.
Have you travelled with IndiGo before? Do you think the airline needs to improve its services?
