Regena Cassandrra Got Her First-Ever Paycheck At The Age Of 9

On the latest episode of Tere Gully Mein, we explored the gullies of Chennai with none other than actor Regena Cassandrra. From roaming around the iconic Marina Beach to gorging a lavish South Indian thali, the Farzi actress let her hair down with us. During our fun chat, we discovered that Regena got her first paycheck at the tender age of 9.

Regena Cassandrra Bought Jewellery After Getting Her 1st Paycheck

With Regena Cassandrra by our side, we dived into Chennai’s food, culture and scenic landscapes. While gorging on podi idlis with the actor, we asked her about her first-ever paycheck. Regena revealed she received her first paycheck of  ₹850 for an advertisement at the age of 9. But when she started anchoring for children’s channels and shows she used to get a bigger sum. With the first few paychecks she received, Regena remembered buying a crystal pendant for herself as she loved jewellery as a child.

She remembered owning different coloured hoop earrings as a child and flaunting them. Nowadays, while she owns a lovely collection of jewellery she doesn’t wear them very often. Born to a Muslim father and a Christian Mother, Regena revealed that her name was Razina till the age of 6. However, after her parents’ divorce, she converted to Christianity and changed her name to Regena. Having undergone baptism and communion, the Rocket Boys actor revealed that she doesn’t belong to a very traditional family.

Her Mother Wanted Her To Become A Graduate

When she told her mother she wanted to become an actor at a young age, her mother told her to become a graduate first. This is because everyone in her family was a graduate. So, education was important in her household. Apart from candidly sharing about her first few auditions, and experience working with doyens of the South Indian film industries, Regena even introduced us to her favourite comfort foods.
