Goa is known for its scenic shores, tranquil beaches, and serenity. And what do people often enjoy near the coast? Seafood, of course! On the Goan thalis, you’ll find fish, prawns, crabs, oysters and more–making it a perfect escape for any seafood lover. The dishes are influenced by Portuguese and Konkani cuisines, made with local spices, coconut flavours, and a hint of kokum in every bite. The dishes on this thali are Goan Fish Curry, Vindaloo, Sheet Kodi Nustea, a special Goan salad made with grated coconut, and Kismur to complement the curries. It is served with plain white rice and a refreshing local drink, Sol Kadi, to beat up the spice. For sweets, Bebinca (GI-tagged sweet of Goa), Matka Kulfi or Goan Banana Halwa make it one of the best regional thalis in India.

3. Gujarati Thali

For drinks, there is a chaas (buttermilk), which is a must for any Kathiawadi. Although the dishes lean towards sweetness, they also have a few desserts like Aam Ras and Kesar Shrikhand that truly give you a sugar rush to perfectly wrap up the Gujarati thali.

The Rajasthani Thali reflects the rich culinary heritage of the Maharajas from the Rajput, Mewar, Sisodia, and Rathore dynasties. Whether it’s Rajasthan’s architectural grandeur or its rich culinary heritage, both beautifully reflect the charm of its royal past.
