Forget owning your own flat in Bengaluru! Even renting a spacious one in a decent locality seems like a faraway dream to many. The latest incident is an apartment listing on Reddit that left Netizens hopeless in the comments section and has started a debate on the city’s skyrocketing rental prices despite infrastructure and other woes.

Bengaluru Apartment Listing With ₹2.7 Lakh Monthly Rent Shocks Internet

A Redditor with the username, anotherimbaud took to the microblogging site’s subreddit page, r/indianrealestate, to share an apartment listing in Bengaluru that shocked them. The listing shows a 3BHK flat in the city’s Haralur area that costs a whopping ₹2.7 lakh per month as monthly rent. The security deposit amounts to ₹15 lakh. Spanning 1464 sq feet in area, the flat is part of Zonasha Elegance, a residential complex located on Anjaneya Swamy Road near Zonasha Vista in Haralur.

While the Redditor admitted the flat looked decent-ish, they were shocked that people were ready to pay such massive amounts for an average apartment. They realised that the images added online looked fine, but the price left them astonished. Located near IT hubs like Sarjapur Road and HSR Layout, Haralur is gaining traction as a popular residential area. Rife with apartment complexes housing IT professionals and offering connectivity to major companies and startups, people are shifting their focus to this area for residential purposes.

Netizens Call It A Joke Or A Mistake

Irrespective of the demand for flats in that area, Netizens aren’t pleased with the skyrocketing rental prices. One person commented that nobody would settle for this, as it’s possible to find flats with just ₹50,000 rent in the same area. Another commented that people weren’t stupid to pay such amounts. Others pointed out the listing to be a mistake as it’s semi-furnished. A Redditor even added that they pay ₹80,000 as rent for a fully-finished flat, which includes maintenance fees as well.  A person even joked that they’d expect a helipad for ₹2.7 lakh per month rent. Many called this listing a joke or a mistake.
