Rida Tharana was born and raised in Coorg. In her own words, she is a “Coorgi” and her family still lives there. She came to Bengaluru for her college education and has been here since. Having spent her entire childhood in Coorg, she has many fond memories there but she recommends visiting the place with a local.

“I keep telling my friends don’t go to Coorg until I’m there,” she said because the internet doesn’t show many amazing places there. She feels it is best that people rent a car or scooter and explore the little villages and nature there by themselves! So, what places would Rida Tharana suggest to someone visiting Coorg? She says one should visit Iruppu Waterfalls, Mandalpatti, and Kushalnagar’s Golden Temple. Coming to food, Rida suggests trying Noolputtu and Otti with pandi curry, chicken curry, or fish curry, and Pathal with fish, which is also her favourite dish.
