Amusement parks have always been a place that provides ultimate joy and fun-filled memories. Now, imagine you sit on a rollercoaster expecting just exhilarating speed but end up stopping mid-air. That’s exactly what happened to these Wisconsin riders who were left stranded upside down on a roller coaster midway after it malfunctioned!
Wisconsin Roller Coaster Malfunction Leaves 10 People Stuck Upside Down Mid-Air
On Sunday, festivalgoers in Wisconsin experienced an unexpected adventure when a roller coaster ride became stuck. The incident took place in Crandon at the Forest County Festival.
As a result of a mechanical failure, the ride halted, leaving eight passengers suspended in mid-air for several hours. Videos circulating on social media show a rescuer climbing up the side of the Fireball ride. Meanwhile, the passengers waited upside down.
The exact reason for the roller coaster breaking down is currently under investigation, and the reason for the glitch remains unknown. As luck would have it, an off-duty firefighter with rope training was at the same fair.
He quickly informed the Crandon Fire Department on possible rescue options to help bring the riders off the roller coaster. Owing to the ride’s height, rescue teams and special equipment were called in to assist.

The stranded riders waited for a 100-foot platform ladder truck to arrive from 45 minutes away. The Crandon Fire Department was assisted by firefighters from 3 other cities in the rescue.
The 10 rescued riders were later taken to the hospital to conduct a thorough health check-up.
The video, which was first shared by Facebook User, Scott Brass, also commended the courage of one of the riders stuck on the ride. A little girl who was stuck on the ride encouraged the firefighters to first rescue an old man. He was also stuck on the ride along with the others.
She saw the old man struggling more than she and asked the rescuer to help him first. The little girl’s courageous outlook gained praise from a lot of viewers.
This comes to light just two days after a vigilant father’s discovery of a crack in a steel support pillar on a roller coaster ride. The crack was on a roller coaster at Carowinds amusement park in Charlotte, North Carolina. The ride was promptly closed for a thorough inspection and necessary repairs.
This incident is the latest addition to a series of current mishaps happening at amusement parks worldwide.
