However, to ease traffic congestion and facilitate a more seamless flow of traffic, the first phase of the Riyadh Parking Project has been launched. Riyadh Mayoralty Launches Phase 1 Of Riyadh Parking Project
Recently, Riyadh Mayoralty launched the first phase of the Riyadh Parking Project. It aims to decrease traffic congestion and ease the flow of traffic in the Saudi capital. As a result, it’s bound to improve the quality of life by reducing the cases of illegal parking and allowing sufficient space for everybody. According to a report by the Saudi Gazette, it was mentioned that the first phase involves establishing and managing more than 24,000 parking lots. Not to mention, it also includes the management of 1,40,000 parking lots in residential areas. Twelve districts, such as Al Wurood, Al Rahmaniyah, Al Muruj, Al Olaya (west), King Fahd, and As Sulimaniyah will also be covered in this phase. In fact, four Southern districts will also included!

The Aim Is To Reduce Traffic Congestion

At this point, it’s worth mentioning that the project aims to revitalise the local economies. They want to do so by encouraging commercial activity near public parking areas and providing convenient parking solutions. Additionally, Remat Al Riyadh Development Company has partnered with solutions by STC, which is the leading digital transformation company. This partnership will oversee the establishment, operation, management, and maintenance of parking lots in the capital city. In fact, it aligns with the municipality’s commitment to supporting the private sector and achieving the goals of Vision 2030. And it’s also bound to implement sustainable solutions for public parking.
Finally, it’s worth mentioning that although the completion dates have not yet been revealed, the new project is bound to encourage not just commercial activity, but also help more tourists with easier parking solutions.
