But did you know that Jordan has its own long-distance hiking trail that connects Um Qais in the north to the Gulf Of Aqaba in the south? Well, if you haven’t already gathered, we are talking about the Jordan Trail, which takes about 40 days to hike as it is spread across a massive 675 km.
Jordan Trail Is Spread Across 675 Km
The Jordan Trail is a renowned long-distance hiking trail in the country and it connects the North to the South. Taking travellers across 75 villages and towns on its way, one needs the JT Pass to take the route. In case you weren’t aware, this is the lifetime trail passport, achievement recorder, and hiking log. A memorable keepsake document, this is perfect for experienced or amateur hikers while also being an official facilitation document that can be presented to the authorities when required. While initially, the child was not quite popular, it started to gain momentum as it began to attract thousands of hikers every year mostly they were from overseas.

It Takes People On A Journey Of Ancient Sites
For those who are wondering, this hike has eight stages. Yes, passing through natural and archaeological gems, it is overshadowed by two of the kingdom’s most famous sites, Wadi Rum and Petra. The trail passes through numerous ancient sites, such as the Greco-Roman city of Gadara.
Not to mention, the changing landscapes is truly a nature lover’s dream come true as one passes through the hot springs of Maeen or gets the splendid views of the Dead Sea. While it is a difficult track, there are so far no reports of serious injuries. Hikers are obviously advised to ensure that they have had to protect their faces from the harsh sun.
It’s recommendable to download the map online and even though anyone can access the trail, they must be experienced enough to take on the trail that takes several days at a time to finish.
