The CSMIA in Mumbai is scheduled for its annual pre-monsoon runway maintenance on May 8, 2025. According to the press release, the maintenance work at the runway will take place between 11 AM and 5 PM. Between this period, both the primary runway 09/27 and the secondary runway 14/32 will be temporarily non-operational.

The pre-monsoon runway maintenance is part of CSMIA’s comprehensive monsoon contingency plan to ensure safety and operational excellence. CSMIA has meticulously coordinated this maintenance with multiple stakeholders, including airlines and aviation authorities.

The airport authorities gave a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM), which was issued six months in advance, to notify airlines and stakeholders about this maintenance work. This ensured that the airlines had enough time to adjust their flight schedules well ahead of time, enabling them to plan appropriately.

As per the press release, by prioritising infrastructure upkeep, CSMIA aims to ensure a smooth experience for both airlines and passengers. Furthermore, they hope to maintain the highest standards of safety and service excellence at the airport.
