Sagar Bhatia Feels Nervous Before Every Show
Sagar Bhatia has become a very well-known name in the music industry, known for his soulful Qawwali. Talking about his success, he revealed that today he doesn’t work for fame or money, but to be able to do justice to his passion and share it with the world as well as he can. Curious, we asked him if he ever feels nervous before any of his shows, and he says every time—every time.
Until the moment he steps onto the stage, nobody is as nervous as he is. He says that as soon as he sees the audience, he’s okay, but before that, he is nervous—not because he has to perform, but about all the technicalities that could go wrong—from an issue with sound or his equipment to his band members’ well-being. Anything that could hamper the show keeps Sagar Bhatia up all night.

His Pre-Show Rituals
During our conversation about his performances, Sagar Bhatia also revealed his wholesome pre-show rituals. No matter where he is performing, what part of the country, or what the time difference with India is, there are two things he follows after taking his bath: he doesn’t talk to anybody, and he does his Riyaz, gets ready while practising, and performs his Puja rituals for Sai Baba, whom he really believes in.
And right before stepping onto the stage, he calls his mom to seek her blessings for a successful show. But what happens if, for some reason, his mother doesn’t pick up the phone at that moment? That one time it happened, he was performing in Hyderabad, and five minutes later, when he got on the stage, his mother finally called him back—and he paused the show to take her call and her blessings. He certainly considers it to be a very beautiful moment.
