The white rafts sailing across will soon be witnessed in the Emirates. The 32nd Edition of the Al Gaffal Long Distance Race is back with a bigger celebration. Get ready to witness traditional 60-foot sailing ships between 26 to 28 May 2023 in the Emirates. The Crown Prince Of Dubai has approved these dates.

Sheikh Hamdan Announced Dates Of The Annual Racing Event

The Dubai International Marine Club hosts the event every year at the conclusion of the marine sports season. The renowned yearly race, according to Sheikh Hamdan, has significantly helped to preserve the UAE’s maritime history. The event, whose popularity has increased over time, honours the contribution the sea has made to the nation’s economy, culture, and society.

Sheikh Hamdan gave the Higher Organising Committee of the event specific instructions to make sure that the competition, which will follow a 50 nautical mile route beginning on Sir Bu Nair Island, passing past Crescent Moon Island, and concluding on the coasts of Dubai, is organised flawlessly. To ensure the event’s success, Sheikh Hamdan pleaded with all parties concerned to cooperate.

Another Such Sailing Race In The Emirates

The D2M has been underway for 30 years and continues to be the region’s longest and toughest sailing competition, requiring steadfast dedication for up to five days. The event is distinctive and one-of-a-kind because it draws both highly competent local sailors and competitors from around the globe.

The D2M is a competitive sport that involves both physical and mental challenges. It involves competitors navigating past other ships and challenges while contending with challenging wind and weather conditions throughout a lengthy trip to Muscat.
