Recently, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia announced that the citizens of the nations in the Gulf Cooperation Council can perform Umrah any time of the year. Yes, as revealed through its post on X, it mentioned this huge development regarding the updated guidelines, and revealed more details that we are here to tell you all about.

GCC Citizens Can Perform Umrah Anytime

As revealed on X by the ministry, GCC citizens can now perform Umrah in Saudi Arabia any time of the year. Yes, they will be given the permit through land, air, and seaports! Additionally, those residents who hold a valid visa for these nations can also perform Umrah under these updated guidelines, as revealed by the ministry. In fact, Umrah permits can easily be obtained through the new application. It should be noted that this development comes at a time when the kingdom is still taking decisive efforts to simplify pilgrimage procedures, while also enhancing the experience for worshippers.

Types Of Visas For Umrah

But the first question that arises in the mind is what kind of visa can be used for performing Umrah for GCC citizens and residents? Well, they can use the following types of visa for this purpose!

  • Transit Visa, this type of visa is offered in collaboration with Saudia and flynas
  • Umrah Visa, and this can be obtained through the official portal
  • Tourist Visa, which can be obtained through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Prior Appointment For Al-Rawdah Al-Sharif

It should be noted that visitors who enter Al-Rawdah Al-Sharif in the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah must have an appointment that has been booked in advance through the Nusuk App. In fact, this development comes after Saudi Arabia resumed the issuing process for Umrah Visas from June 10 for international pilgrims. The permits on Nusuk for Umrah became available from June 11.

So, with the development, it’s not wrong to say that it becomes a lot easier for the residents and citizens of the GCC nations to perform Umrah.
