As revealed recently by the General Directorate of Civil Defence, the public has been advised to be cautious in several regions of Saudi Arabia. The reason for this is the fact that they have been warned against venturing into relatively dangerous places, such as valleys, flood-prone zones, or even attempting to swim in them. As mentioned in a report by the Saudi Gazette, the kingdom is expected to experience thunderstorms until Thursday, July 31. Yes, this was revealed in an official advisory wherein the residents were asked to closely follow weather updates. Yes, as a result, they’ve been asked to follow the safety instructions as well. A big reason for this is the fact that the kingdom may receive thunderstorms across its several regions.

Which Regions To Receive Rainfall?
So, the alert includes notifications for moderate to heavy rainfall. This is expected in parts of the Makkah region, in Taif, Adham, Maysan, and Al-Araidiyat. As a result, due to the heavy rainfall that is expected, there might be flash floods, a rise in downdraught winds, and even hailstorms
With light to moderate rainfall in areas like Makkah city, Turbah, Ranyah, Al-Jumum, Al-Laith, Al-Muwaih, and Al-Qunfudhah, people might not want to venture out to avoid getting drenched. In fact, the regions of Asir, Jazan, Najran, and Al-Baha have also been forecast to receive moderate to heavy rainfall during this period.
As a result, the civil defence has emphasised the importance of listening to instructions and staying alert. This is important for public safety, especially when the weather is unstable, and to avoid any undue incident.
