Hero Esports, which is the largest sports company in Asia, has announced that it will be launching the inaugural humanoid combat tournament in Riyadh. Taking place on September 9th, the ground-breaking Cyborg Hero tournament will start at 9 PM. As revealed in a report by Arab News, this event will feature full-sized humanoid robots that will be competing in a kickboxing format. It would be piloted by professional esports athletes as they use advanced control systems. In fact, two esports players will be acting as drivers, who will be driving the robots, and both of them are Street Fighter players, as revealed by Danny Tang, who is the Hero Esports Co-founder and CEO, to Arab News.
Humanoid Robots Will Combat Live
It should be noted that this is the first mechanical kickboxing match in the region, which marks a massive shift in its history. The event would be the first in the planned series of CyberHero events across major cities worldwide. As revealed by PRNewswire, the first CyberHero x Riyadh showcase would feature 10 EngineAI T800 humanoid robots. They will compete live in a purpose-built combat area.

More About The Robots Partaking In The Competition
Talking about the robots, these are approximately 1.73 m tall and weigh about 75 to 85 KG. The EngineAI T800 can be compared to a fully grown adult man. In fact, there are 29 articulated joints that help the robot to run, punch, walk, kick, turn, and even recover after it falls. With its capability put to the test live, the event would display its balance, motion control, reaction speed, and combat strategy.
The event would combine robotic competition with music. Complete with lighting and immersive live entertainment, there will also be a live set from a rising international DJ. It’s worth noting that the venue is yet to be announced, but the doors would open at 8:30 PM for the event.
