1. Etihad Airways Flight Delayed After Suspected Bird Strike

An Etihad Airways flight from Geneva to Abu Dhabi, which was scheduled to depart at 10:40 AM on September 22 had been delayed. It was later cancelled after routine maintenance. The update comes after it was reported that there was a suspected bird strike. As a result, the airline apologised for the disruption to service. Moreover, the airline advised the customers to ensure their contact details were up-to-date so that they could receive the latest flight information.

2. Fire At Warehouse Near A Metro Station In Dubai

Just a short distance away from Abu Baker Al Siddique Metro Station in Deira, a fire broke out at a warehouse. This incident happened at around 9:30 AM on Sunday and firefighters responded to the situation immediately. As thick clouds of smoke were seen rising into the air, it was reported that three firefighting tankers had responded to the emergency situation.

3. Jeddah Municipality Creates World Record

On the occasion of Saudi National Day, Jeddah Municipality etched its name in the Guinness World Records. Yes, they obtained this certificate for implementing the largest Mosaic that was made of 125,000 natural roses. The slogan of the 94th Saudi National Day which is ‘We Dream And Achieve,’ had been created with these plants.

4. Firework Displays Planned For Saudi Arabia

Several fireworks will illuminate the skies in Saudi Arabia as the nation celebrates Saudi National Day. These fireworks displayed across the kingdom will be on simultaneously. In fact, the fireworks will take place at Umm Ajlan Park, Riyadh for seven minutes starting at 9 PM. While in Jeddah, the public can watch this stupendous display at the Jeddah Promenade.

And in Al-Khobar, the viewing platform will be located near the northern Khobar Cornish. Other cities like Tabuk, Madinah, Buraidah, Najran, Al-Baha, Abha, Hail, Arar, Al-Jouf, and Jazan will also host fireworks, will also host this display at designated locations to celebrate the occasion.

5. Abu Al Abyad 60ft Dhow Sailing Race Dates Revealed

The dates for the Abu Al Abyad 60ft Dhow Sailing Race have been revealed. Happening under the patronage of His Highness Hamdan bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan who is the ruler’s representative in Al Dhafra Region, it will be taking place in October. Yes, the sailing race will be happening from October 5 to 6, from Abu Al Abyad to Abu Dhabi breakwater. In fact, registration for the Abu Al Abyad 60ft Dhow Sailing Race has opened through the club’s website.

6. IKEA Introduces Green At Heart Campaign For Saudi National Day

Based on the Saudi green colour, this is a blend of IKEA’s blue and yellow colours. Yes, representing the harmonious connection between IKEA’s Swedish heritage and its deep-rooted relationship with the Kingdom, the goal is to highlight the shared values. As it happens, the company also set up an interactive booth in-store encouraging customers to immerse themselves in the “Green at Heart” experience.
