Saudi Nationals To Get Visa Exemptions From EU?
As mentioned in the report, Saudi nationals might soon be exempted from free entry visa requirements for EU countries. This will allow them to move around the Schengen Area freely. For those who are not aware, it comprises 27 member states. As mentioned by the EU ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Christophe Farnaud, he confirmed that the work is currently underway. This work, once done, will exempt Saudi citizens from short-stay visa requirements completely.

However, with the recent changes, there is already an ease in travel between the kingdom and the Schengen area. For instance, about a year ago, new rules were adopted by the European Commission that allowed Saudi citizens, and even those from Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, and Qatar to obtain multi-entry visas that could be valid for short stays of up to 5 years. In case you’re wondering, some of the member states are France, Greece, Italy, Czechia, Hungary, and more.
As it happens, these are meaningful changes that help strengthen people-to-people ties. Not to mention, with this new visa policy, citizens will not be able to travel to Europe multiple times over a five-year period with a single visa.
