Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport witnessed a very odd situation on February 17. A student from a private engineering university in the city claimed to be a terrorist and left the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officers concerned. Later on, it was discovered that the student was afraid to face his family back home due to poor results. So, he claimed to be a terrorist at Bengaluru Airport. Student Claims He Is A Terrorist At Bengaluru Airport
A report by The Times Of India stated that Adarsh Kumar Singh booked an Air Asia flight from Bengaluru to Lucknow, his hometown. The student from a private engineering college in Bengaluru checked into the airport, boarded the flight and at the very last minute, he changed his mind. Adarsh Kumar Singh disembarked from the flight right before takeoff. The cabin crew alerted the CISF officials of the boy’s strange actions.
The CISF personnel interjected and questioned the student about walking out of the flight at the n’th moment. On his part, Adarsh Kumar Singh stated that he was a terrorist and that the flight wouldn’t fly to Lucknow as scheduled. This immediately sparked a domino effect in subsequent events. Security personnel rushed and took action to rule out any threat. The student underwent a detailed interrogation and an anti-sabotage check. The security personnel handed Singh to the KIA police. They termed it a “non-specific” threat to Bengaluru and “specific for Lucknow”.

CISF Official Stated He Was Scared To Face His Parents Due To Low Marks
During the interrogation, Adarsh Kumar Singh stated that he lied to the CISF about being a terrorist. He didn’t want to go to his hometown Lucknow as he was scared to face his parents for scoring low marks in his engineering course. The BTech student was later released on bail. A CISF official revealed that the student’s parents called him home due to his poor academic performance. The student was afraid his parents would scold him for not studying properly. The official further stated to TOI that he didn’t want to return so he lied about being a terrorist.
