Soon, Abu Dhabi will get self-driving Uber cars. Yes, this cab-hailing company has partnered with China’s WeRide to launch autonomous vehicles. And it’s expected that it might get introduced in the UAE later this year. But it has not been disclosed how many self-driving cars will be deployed in the emirate, yet.
2. DXB Gets Its First Assisted Travel Lounge
Dubai Airport has finally opened its first Assisted Travel Lounge at Terminal 2 of the Dubai International Airport. Yes, it set a new benchmark for accessible travel. Moreover, the lounge is the first of its kind, as it has been designed to comprehensively address the diverse needs of People of Determination (POD).
3. Proceeds Of Feels X FoscArt Eco Bead Workshop To Go To Marine Debris Cleanup
Sign up for a fun-filled workshop, which is being organised by Feels and FoscArt. This is a hands-on, creative experience, where you will be crafting beach-inspired accessories with an eco-conscious twist. Moreover, the proceeds from this will go towards the marine debris cleanup, which is quite fantastic. Complete with a healthy drink and nourishing meal, proceeds from the workshop will support AZRAQ, the not-for-profit marine conservation group.

4. Beach Cleanup Initiative In Sharjah for World Cleanup Day
On the occasion of World Cleanup Day, Sharjah Sustainable City, Sharjah City Municipality, and BEEAH have joined forces. Yes, and this was for the beach clean-up activity that took place at Al Khan Beach. As such, the aim was to promote environmental protection while also raising awareness about the importance of safeguarding natural landscapes.
5. AD Mobility Receives Award
It was recently revealed that the Integrated Transport Centre, which is a part of Abu Dhabi Municipalities & Transport has won an award. Yes, this is the 2024 Sustainability Innovation Award, and it’s for the Green Bus Programme. In fact, Abu Dhabi expanded the eco-friendly public transport under the Sustainable Electric Bus of the Year category.
