About 54 people have died in the Ballia District Hospital in 3 days, according to a report by NDTV. Almost 400 patients have been admitted at this district hospital in the past 3 days as well. One of the many reasons behind such a soaring number of people falling sick and rushing to the hospital for treatment might be the unbelievably severe heat in Uttar Pradesh, shared by the hospital doctors. The temperature has skyrocketed over 40 °C in many areas of the state along with an intolerable heatwave.

SK Yadav shared that 15 June reported 23 deaths, 16 June reported 20 deaths, and 17 June saw 11 patients losing their lives. There are not a sufficient number of stretchers to carry patients due to overcrowding. The NDTV report states how people are rushing toward the emergency ward by carrying the patients on their shoulders.

Dr. BP Tiwari is the Additional Health Director in the Azamgarh Circle. The doctor shared that a team from Lucknow is all set to probe this incident and find out if there are some other unobserved changes or diseases.
