Shahid Afridi, the dynamic former captain of the Pakistan cricket team, renowned for his explosive batting prowess, has ventured into a new realm – the culinary world. In the heart of Dubai, he has unveiled ‘Lala’s Darbar,’ a restaurant that not only pays homage to his cricketing legacy but also invites patrons to savour a fusion of Pakistani cuisine. The establishment, located in International City, is a culinary haven adorned with Afridi’s cricket memorabilia. It creates a nostalgic ambience for his fans and admirers. But Shahid Afridi has plans to invite a special guest to his restaurant this time. It’s none other than Indian cricket legend, Sachin Tendulkar.

Passion Beyond The Pitch

Retiring from international cricket in 2017, Afridi’s passion for food and cricket has found a unique convergence in Lala’s Darbar. Expressing his desire to share this passion with the people of Dubai, Afridi has meticulously curated every aspect of the restaurant. From the menu to the interior design, he has poured his heart into creating a space where people can relish good food, and good company, and celebrate his cricketing journey. A Culinary Invitation To A Rival & Friend

Afridi’s vision extends beyond the walls of his restaurant as he aspires to host his former rival and friend, Sachin Tendulkar, the legendary Indian batsman. Expressing deep respect and admiration for Tendulkar, Afridi dreams of treating him to signature Pathan-style dishes. According to the menu, he would be treated to dishes like biryani, karahi, and more, along with fusion creations unique to Lala’s Darbar.

What’s On The Menu?

The purely Halal restaurant has a very simple menu with convenient prices. If closely observed, Shahid Afridi’s restaurant menu reflects a bit of its passion for cricket. While you read the main dishes like Chicken Karahi and Tandoor, you can spot Googly Mix Grill and Boom Boom Nalli Raan. Apart from this, Lala Darabar offers soft beverages juices, lassi, coffee and our favourite, Doodh patti chai.

Afridi remains actively involved in domestic and franchise-level cricket, emphasizing his continued passion for the game. Beyond playing, Afridi is dedicated to mentoring young players and supporting cricket initiatives to contribute to the sport’s development globally.
