According to The Economic Times, the Shaktipeeth Expressway is an 802-kilometre-long, six-lane corridor that will connect Nagpur and Goa. The new expressway is being developed by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) and will boost connectivity across 12 districts.

The authorities also aim to promote regional tourism, growth, and access to spiritual destinations with this new highway. The Shaktipeeth Expressway begins in Pavnar, Wardha district, and concludes at Patradevi on the Maharashtra-Goa border. It will pass through 12 districts and create a faster and more convenient route for the commuters.

One of the most noted features of the expressway is that it links important pilgrimage sites. As per reports, it will stretch from Wardha to Sindhudurg and will facilitate easier access for devotees and boost spiritual tourism in the region. The highway is named the Shaktipeeth Expressway because it will pass through three Shakti Peethas–Mahalakshmi, Tuljabhavani, and Patradevi. Not just that, it also covers two of the 12 Jyotirlingas at Aundha Nagnath and Parli Vaijnath.
