Warner Bros. Discovery has announced plans to open China’s first official Harry Potter Studio Tour in Shanghai. This particular studio tour is slated for 2027. The entertainment conglomerate has partnered with local tourism heavyweight Jinjiang International to bring this magical experience to life. Shanghai To Get China’s First Official Harry Potter Studio
According to an article that was recently published by The Times Of India or The TOI, this Jinjian Action Park closed its doors for renovations in January 2025. The Harry Potter Studio Tour will span across an impressive 53,000 square metres.
The attraction promises to deliver an immersive half-day experience for visitors keen to explore the enchanting world of Harry Potter. This announcement, made via WeChat, marks a significant expansion of Harry Potter attractions in China.
While Beijing’s Universal Studios resort currently houses a Harry Potter-themed area, the Shanghai Studio Tour will offer a distinctly different experience, focusing on behind-the-scenes aspects of the beloved film series.
What To Expect From This Studio?
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore iconic sets, examine authentic costumes, and get up close with the original props used in the films. Jinjiang International has promised “splendid and unsurpassed behind-the-scenes exploration” alongside various interactive experiences.
