Never Have I Ever WIth Shantanu Maheshwari
We played a fun game of ‘Never Have I Ever’ with Shantanu. Rohan began with the question, never have I ever had street food without getting a little messy. Our guest gave a relatable answer and we 100% agree with him! He revealed that what is the fun of enjoying street food if it doesn’t get messy?
Next was whether he used any Bambaiya slang while ordering street food in the city. Hailing from Kolkata, this question caught him off guard and he enquired further about the said slang. Finally, he shared that he only uses slang for his friends. The next one was about a crush on a co-star which he politely declined.
The last one was whether he was ever starstruck and Shantanu Maheshwari revealed his first time meeting Sanjay Leela Bhansali for ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. He left our guest speechless!

His Experience With Filming Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’
Before wrapping up the episode, we had to ask Shantanu Maheshwari about his filming experience with the great Indian filmmaker, Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He played Afsaan in Bhansali’s ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ (2022). His brilliant performance earned him the IIFA Award for Star Debut of the Year!
Shantanu recalled his starstruck moment, saying, “It was an amazing experience. I have learnt a lot.” The dancer-turned-actor revealed that he was always immersed in his character because he was constantly fearing being replaced by someone more deserving. He added, “(I wondered) if I will be able to perform or not if I would be able to match his expectations or not. But after a point, I just decided that I just want to go with the flow and give my best.”
Slowly he began channelling his joyful thoughts instead of anxious ones which aided him in giving a blockbuster performance on the camera. Shantanu also highlighted that it hit him only after the film was released that he was a part of something bigger when people appreciated his character!
