Sharjah Municipality recently announced that it will be implementing paid parking in Al Dhaid city. This will be effective from January 1, 2025 and under the new rule, the parking fees will be payable from Saturday to Thursday. Here’s everything you need to know about this development in the emirate.
Sharjah Municipality Announces Paid Parking In Al Dhaid
As revealed in a report by Khaleej Times, it was mentioned that Sharjah Municipality will now implement this paid parking rule from January 1, 2025 onwards. The parking will be paid between 8 AM and 10 PM on the aforementioned days. This means Fridays will be free parking! However, some places will still have fees. Yes, they will have a fees that will be applicable throughout the week, which includes even the weekends and the holidays.
This Will Come Into Effect From January 1
So from January 1 onwards, you will want to be on the lookout for the blue signboard that will be posted throughout the city. These sign boards will indicate all the zones that are subjected to parking fees every single day of the week. This even includes public holidays and weekends. It’s worth mentioning that this decision has been taken as a part of the municipality’s effort to improve urban infrastructure. Not to mention, the aim is also to create a more efficient use of public spaces.
Seven-Day Zones Were Also Introduced In October
In fact, back in October, the Sharjah Municipality also announced new parking hours for seven-day zones in Sharjah. These zones were identified by a blue parking information sign. And now, according to the revised timings, vehicle owners have to pay for parking slots from 8 AM to midnight under the rule. As it happens, these paid parking zones are operational throughout the week and even on public holidays.
So, as the new year begins, you might want to be on the lookout for such signages that relay all the information you would want to know regarding the fees and the type of parking.
