The Sharjah Road and Transport Authority have announced that they are launching 10 electric buses. To be operated in the Sharjah RTA’s transport fleet, the aim is to introduce environmentally friendly buses that will be plying on the roads. Here’s all about this new fleet of 10 buses.

It was recently announced on the official account of Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority on X (formerly Twitter) that it will be adding 10 new electric buses to its transport fleet. The addition of these new buses aims to strengthen the mass transportation fleet of the transport authority. Moreover, it also reflects the importance of relying on modes of transportation that are environmentally friendly.
SRTA Makes The Move To Promoting Sustainable Mode Of Transport
As it happens, Engineer Yousef Khamis Al Othmani, the Chairman of SRTA has affirmed that it will be adopting a number of development initiatives and plans with a sustainable course. To encourage the use of mass transportation while also meeting the aspiration of shifting towards greener transportation, this move has been made. Not to mention, the motive is also to reduce environmental impacts, while also reducing energy consumption.

These Buses Can Carry 22 Passengers At A Time
As it happens, the SRTA has brought this initiative into effect at the level of intercity buses. Coming to the buses, they have a capacity of 22 passengers and also have international safety specifications. Additionally, they have obtained a European Safety Certificate, besides the air-conditioned and battery cooling system. The latter is quite important considering the UAE weather conditions.
So, with the government taking the initiative for greener transport, it’s important that we also adopt sustainable living to support their good effort.
