Sharjah RTA recently completed a major project in the Al Sajaah Industrial Area, as revealed in a report by Khaleej Times. This project involved the construction of a network of main roads with a total length of 9.5 km. Involving the construction of two new roads, this included one from the intersection Number 8 on Al Dhhaid Road towards the Al Sajaah Area. Not to mention, it includes two additional lanes that are 2.2 km long and 7.4 m wide. Not to mention, it spans a 12 m wide central median. As it happens, it also features forest crossings with traffic signals for better safety.
The Construction Is In The Al Sajaah Industrial Area
Not just this, the road also includes two U-turns and six slip roads at the roundabout in the area. This is going to improve the traffic flow, particularly for trucks and commercial vehicles. In fact, six public bus stops have also been added on both sides of the road, besides the roads and parking spaces for nearby mosques. Offering a total of 144 parking spots, the new road comprises a single-carriageway with two lanes in each direction. As a result, it connects the ninth intersection, which falls on the Al Dhaid Road to the Hudabiya District. As it happens, the 3.8 km road also includes asphalt shoulders, which provide protective barriers to the vehicles and foundations for lighting poles.
Finally, it’s worth mentioning that the remaining part of the project includes the construction of a single-carriageway with two lanes in both directions. These roads are expected to be 7.3 m wide and will extend 3.5 km. Finally, it has been designed to ensure smooth and interrupted vehicle flow that is bound to make travelling easier for motorists who want to take this route.
