The Department of Human Resources in Sharjah has authorised government entities to implement remote working arrangements. However, this is until Thursday, March 26th, as revealed in an official announcement. It should be noted that through the directive, departments of authorities and government institutions can activate the remote work system.
Sharjah Allows Remote Work For Govt Entities
As revealed in a report of the Gulf News, heads of departments, authorities, and government institutions have been allowed to activate the remote work system. However, it is on the basis of operational needs, and it offers flexibility in terms of managing workforce arrangements. It should be noted that this measure applies to all entities. However, there are some exceptions to the rule, which require employees to be physically present at the workplace to ensure the essential services continue.
Heavy Rains In The UAE
The decision aims at maintaining business continuity while also enabling institutions to actively respond to the current situation. This comes after emergency teams were deployed due to heavy rain in Sharjah. It was confirmed that Sharjah City Municipality was fully prepared to manage the forecasted rainfall and to ensure there was a swift response to any weather-related emergency. There is also a forecast for rain by the National Centre of Meteorology of varying intensities across several areas. The NCM said that it expects intermittent rainfall during the day, today. It is also expected to be scattered across the country, extending into the night to the Western, Eastern, coastal areas and the islands.
