In a remarkable feat, the illustrious Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque has secured its place among the top 5 free attractions in Asia. It’s a testament to its fascinating charm and profound significance. This magnificent structure has secured the rank due to the percentage of five-star reviews generously left by visitors on TripAdvisor. The UAE’s largest mosque proudly claimed the fifth position within the region.

Astonishingly, a staggering 86 per cent of visitors visited this grand landmark. It was inaugurated in 2007, with a resounding five-star rating. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is no ordinary architectural marvel. It stands as one of the world’s largest mosques. You can call it a magnificent fusion of various Islamic architectural traditions. Adorned with 82 awe-inspiring domes, over a thousand majestic columns, and glorious 24-carat-gold gilded chandeliers, this iconic structure leaves an indelible mark. It also has the world’s largest hand-knotted carpet. Also, the main prayer hall is further graced by one of the planet’s largest chandeliers, adding to the mosque’s opulent grandeur.

The visionary behind this architectural masterpiece is the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. He conceived the mosque as a symbol of historical significance. Overall, the structure embodies the Islamic ideals of peace, tolerance, and diversity. It was to be a place of Islamic knowledge and learning, reflecting the true essence of Islamic values.

Following closely was Lanta Animal Welfare in Ban Sala Dan, Thailand, with an impressive 90.01 per cent. Also, Paro Taktsang in Paro, Bhutan, came up with a commendable 88.60 per cent. Notably, Naqsh-e Jahan Square in Isfahan, Iran, secured its place in this prestigious ranking of 86.43 per cent.
