Shillong is all set to host the third edition of the India International Cherry Blossom Festival this year in November.

What Is It?

India’s very own Cherry Blossom Festival is all set to be hosted in the north-eastern city of India, Shillong. The Meghalaya capital will be blooming in pink and shades of purple as the cherry trees awash the skyline of Shillong.

What’s In It?

That’s right, you no longer have to travel all the way to Japan to witness this picturesque moment – Shillong will be host to the third edition of the India International Cherry Blossom Festival from 14th to 17th November. The Cherry blossoms are spread across the east and West Khasi Hills.

What’s more? Expect a lot of fun and entertainment with art and culture being the highlight of northeast India through the portrayal of handicraft exhibitions, local wines and cuisine, and even a Golf tournament.

Take part in tea ceremonies, indulge in traditional cuisine and enjoy performances by drummers from the country. There are Dog shows, skydiving, film screenings and concerts lined up for your entertainment.

The festival will take place at Polo Grounds and you can experience the surreal moment by taking a walk under the beautifully lit up cherry blossom trees in the night sky at Ward’s Lake between 5 pm to 8 pm.
